Get ready to elevate your beauty game and learn the secrets that will take your makeup skills to the next level. From base to brows, here are some of her top tips:
How to avoid creasing under the eyes
Many people complain about concealer creasing under the eye. It is a struggle that many women have, especially when their skin begins to mature. When talking about this with Min-Jee, she explained that eye cream is your best friend. “Always remember to use it, especially before applying concealer.” She added that our under-eye area is often an overlooked and dehydrated part of our face, so when we use concealer, it can sit on top of the skin and exaggerate fine lines. To help avoid this, use eye cream! It will create a barrier and allow the product to sit more seamlessly on the skin creating a flawless, natural base.
Create a flawless blended eye look
When doing your makeup, Min-Jee suggests starting with the eyes, especially if you have a bold look in mind. She explains that doing your eyes first allows you to easily wipe away any eyeshadow that falls onto your under-eyes without having to touch up your base. This helps you create the perfect eyeshadow look without worrying about the mess.
Another top tip Min-Jee gave us was to relax the eyebrows when doing your eye shadow. Looking straight into the mirror with a neutral expression will be an accurate representation of your finished eye makeup. Many people tend to raise their eyebrows when doing eyeshadow, which may cause you to deposit too much product in the wrong spot for your eye shape. If you’ve blended the shadow a bit too high, Min-Jee also suggests taking your leftover concealer on a small brush and sweeping it softly across the top of the crease to help blend the eyeshadow, again with a neutral expression.
Perfect a natural brow
When it comes to creating a full, natural brow, small pencil strokes are the way to go. If you have full brows already, Min-Jee recommends brushing down your eyebrow hairs first, so you can easily spot the sparse areas. Using small pencil strokes and brushing the product through with a spoolie helps keep everything looking natural. Brush the brows upwards to check your progress and add a few more pencil strokes where needed. Focus on small natural strokes especially at the front, mimicking hair growth for a soft, sprouted effect. Min-Jee suggests using both techniques, brushing and filling in, to ensure an even and natural-looking eyebrow.
We hope that helped you create a beautiful flawless look and refine your makeup routine, and thank you Min-Jee for sharing some of your secrets with us!
